Transport for London (TfL) is a local government body responsible for the transport system in London, England.
Nitrous is working with TfL to help keep London moving and growing.
At the problem/solution fit stage we're working with world class talent to design value propositions and build market ready prototypes using quality city data.
At the product/market fit stage we're working with sector agnostic, product-ready startups on industry validation with TfL and the wider transport sector.
At the business/solution fit stage we're developing frameworks to help TfL connect with efficiency generating SMEs and take advantage of cost effective innovation.
In recent years, London's population has boomed to 8.6 million and will reach an estimated 10 million in the next 15 years. While TfL is investing billions of pounds in new services and more capacity, as the city grows, so does the demand for transport.
Tube use has already grown 20 percent since 2008 and an extra 5 million trips a day across all modes of transport are expected by 2031. The future growth in population is the equivalent of having one full Tube train arriving every three days for the next 15 years.
Population growth is a result of London’s economic success and ability to generate jobs and opportunities, and this growth leads to increased demand for transport.
TfL and Nitrous want to support promising startups that are able to help customers travel better, avoiding the most crowded and congested places and times.
Help us keep London moving and growing.
